I know I have a bit of a soft spot for junky covers that are so junky that they become cool, but I’m afraid that this cover doesn’t even make that cut. I spotted it in a book about the Canadian whites, so named because those comics were printed in black and white. What caught my eye wasn’t the logo, the art or the clutter, but a name. Specifically the name of the villain that Thunderfist battles… the Monster of Catastrophe. It’s a villainous name that’s right up there with Per Degaton, Dr. Doom and Red Skull. It’s a name for the ages, and enough for this cover to join its predecessors as a Cover Me selection.
