Just when you think that variant covers have hit the bottom, you find out that there are still depths to be plumbed. Case in point: the DC comic Who Will Jane Be Today where suckers readers are invited to scratch off a mirror to see the image on the book they purchased. With no indication as to how many alternate images there are or how many duplicates you may get stuck with trying to “collect ’em all, kids”, this has to rank as a new cynical and contemptuous low that that would make even PT Barnum blush.
