Ephemera – George Kennedy – Crankshaft 1

Nov 12, 2018

Among my many trysts with Holly Wood, my encounter with the actor George Kennedy was particularly memorable because of the extent that he went to to show how he could become Crankshaft. Kennedy, who was a big Crankshaft fan, optioned the movie and TV rights for a period of time. I thought that he would be perfect for the part, but was even more convinced when he took the pains to have himself made-up for the role. The result, as you’ll see in this and subsequent pix, was nothing short of astonishing, but, sadly, for George especially, it wasn’t to be. Just another date with Holly that didn’t quite pan out.
