Mistakes Were Made

When I opened up today’s paper and saw the Funky Sunday, I immediately realized that I’d made a mistake. Why you can’t realize these things before they hit the paper I’ll never know, but, in the credits under the cover, I was thinking a little too narrowly about the cover only. While the cover was indeed inked by Murphy Anderson, the interior of the book, as well as the bulk of the Silver Age Flash’s run was, inked by Joe Giella. By the same token, if you’re talking about the Silver Age Flash, you need to credit the writer John Broome. Together Giella and Broome shouldered the brunt of the Flash’s early output. I was remiss in not including those two superheroes as well.
