When the mail arrived at the comics castle the the other day, much to my surprise there was another shout out for Funky’s 50th anniversary, and this time it was from Janet and Michael Gilbert with this cool Mr. Monster/old Funky/young Funky mash-up. What a nice surprise to get from the chronicler of one of my favorite comic book characters. I remember first seeing MM at a dinner at Craig Russell’s house where Michael showed me photocopies of his very first issue. I fell in love with the character then and have been an avid follower ever since. If you’re not familiar with Michael’s monster hunter, you owe it to yourself to check him out. You’ll join the legion of Mr. Monster fans just like I did.
