Roses Redux Deux
A large mailing tube showed up at the Cartoon Castle yesterday. Inside were the Funky banners that marchers carried in the Tournament of Roses parade! I thought this was a very cool gesture on the part of the Saluting America’s Band Directors crew until I saw what was on the back.
The back featured the signatures of all of the band directors who marched in the parade! This kind and generous gesture took things from cool to… actually, I’m at a loss for words to express how wonderful it was to see all of those names. I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate Funky’s 50th! My congratulations go out to everyone involved with the SABD project for pulling off this great tribute to America’s band directors… as well as my thanks for inviting Harry L. Dinkle, the world’s greatest band director to their party!
