Recently, Michael Gilbert in his Mr. Monster’s Comic Crypt in Alter Ego has been discussing logos and lettering, two things that can make or break a splash page. He printed a Mr. Monster splash page that I’d forgotten about that checks all the boxes of the three Bs that makeup a great splash page… busy, ballsy and beautiful. This gem with its Ken Bruzenak lettering is a perfect example.
