The Pipeline

So here’s a little news from deep in the pipeline.

The winter woodshedding for Volume 16 of The Complete Funky Winkerbean is about to end. The bulk of the book is pretty much wrapped-up, and I’m just awaiting the dust jacket coloring and the intro to be edited. So we’re close to the the time where I emerge into the sunlight to deliver everything to the Kent State University Press aka Black Squirrel Press. You can find this year’s drop (Vol. 15) in the shop on this site as well as on my YouTube sighting (pun intended) if you want to see a preview video. It’s one of my favorites so far.

As long as we’re in the pipeline, I thought I’d share a character sheet that Crankshaft artist Dan Davis just sent over for a new character that will eventually (I said it was deep pipeline) be appearing in the strip. The drawings made me smile as well as the story arc we have planned. And you can say you saw it first.
