The Ripples 4

George Clark’s artwork here is just fun to behold. With graceful brushwork, he’s able to indicate a basement with minimal line work. In the panel at the lower left, he show us a basement wall and window with only a couple of lines and some jotted texture. When most if the cartoonist at that time were moving towards a dead-jazz-style line, Clark’s work was pretty much the last of a style that was about to disappear.
