Flash Fridays – The Flash #339 November 1984
The issue opens with the A plot showing the Rogues about to send the childlike Dufus P. Ratchet, now known as Big Sir and armed with futuristic armor and weapons courtesy of the mysterious Monitor, on the trail of the Flash by convincing him that the Flash not only brutality beat them up, but that in the process he had also killed a tiny mouse (I guess they’re all pretty much tiny). Small animals are a pet peeve (absolutely intended) of Big Sir, and he takes off for and extended battle with the Flash during which he knocks out the Flash and flies off with him over his shoulder.
The B plot shows his attorney Cecile Horton preparing for the trial by going through jury selection. Interestingly, a shoe that writer Cary Bates had thrown into the air in the last issue, comes down in this one as we see the man who appeared to be struck by lightning in the park, Nathan Newbury, showing up as a prospective juror. My money’s on him making it onto the jury, gang.
The C plot shows the psychic, Norris Dreed (sounds like that’s straight out of Dickens) on the train of Barry Allen with the Flash uniform ring that police captain Frye had given him. And now we’re on to the trial of the People versus the Flash.
